The Greasy Spoon is located in Södermalm, the area where hipster vintage meets Scandic design. I heard so much about Greasy Spoon, so it was on the top of my list. However, when you go there, make sure to be an early bird or temper your appetite beforehand. During rush hour, roughly from 11 - 13 o'clock, there's a waiting list that could keep you waiting for 45 minutes. Hence, there are 2 things you can do:
We visited on a Saturday during rush hour with a big appetite, so we decided to return the next day and go for option 2. Getting early gave us the opportunity to really enjoy the place and the service and seeing the Greasy Spoon slowly awaken and becoming the vibrant place it is.

English on point?
The people at Greasy Spoon are English, the music has this British vibe to it and the menu takes you all around England. You will find the classic tastes like the Full English: eggs & bacon, tomato and beans and even black pudding. However, the Greasy Spoon managed to give the dishes a modern twist and stay away from the English canteen presentation. A proper breakfast or brunch in England starts off with eggs and so do most of the dishes on the Greasy Spoon menu...
And so we ordered...
Being a huge avocado lover, I had to go for the healthy Smashed avocado on toast with a poached egg and my husband went for the more manly Eggs Benedict: bacon & poached egg on an English muffin topped with hollandaise. Combined with freshly squeezed orange and grapefruit juice this made for the perfect English breakfast. The toast was crunchy and the avocado with the lemon made for a fresh and creamy foundation for the perfect poached egg. The eggs Benedict were as good as they sound and made for what my husband called: 'The best breakfast in Stockholm so far'.
And to write a review, one should have a taste of everything, right? Right!
We finished our experience sharing a Sticky toffee pudding and for the sweet tooths amongst us: it's dangerous! It will make you want to come back every day and instantly throw aside all your healthy diet plans.
Greasy Spoon is crowded for a reason, yet cosy, informal and unpretentious. Needless to say it's a definite hotspot!
