THE PERFECT START
We were at Saturnus on a Saturday morning, were we wanted to celebrate the start of our weekend with a nice breakfast. As we entered, the atmosphere was still calm, but as Stockholm woke up, Saturnus became the dynamic place it's said to be. Many active Swedes finished their power-walks through the park with a Saturnus-smoothie or a coffee and parents were reading a newspaper while their kids were playing outside.
The colorful tiles on the floor and on the walls, the wooden benches, the books, the newspapers and magazines throughout the store.. You'd say you're seated in a 'café Français', but the many pastries displayed on the bar tell you otherwise...
You're still in Sweden, the land of the magnificent Fika - the Swedish word for something sweet with your coffee!

My husband went for the extensive weekend breakfast, with a juice, a sandwich, a boiled egg, fruit & yoghurt and a pain au chocolat. I kept my summer goals in mind and ordered the granola & fruit. Not a bad choice at all, since the granola was nice and crunchy and it came with a creamy yoghurt and some sweet honey. Don't be afraid to order an all black coffee overhere either, because this bar knows how to handle their beans!
DESSERT OR FIKA?
If you still have room for dessert, then have something sweet overhere! The chia pudding looked really good and healthy, the pies and cakes were screaming 'pick me!' and I had never seen cinnamon buns this big..
I'll definitely return to Saturnus for a Fika date, no doubt about it!
Take a rest and 'vive la vie' at the vibrant Saturnus!
