Now that September has started, it's time for those transitional summer-to-fall looks and this blue velvet dress is just what you need.
In Stockholm, Weekday was one of my favorite Swedish stores, because of their on-trend looks and reasonable prices. When shopping in Antwerp a few weeks ago, I stumbled upon the first Weekday store in Belgium; just imagine my surprise ánd happiness 🙌ðŸ»
I entered the store and this blue velvet dress was on the counter and paid for before I knew it 😬
The velvet trend was already very present this summer. For me personally, it took some getting used to, to see this cosy winter fabric in bikinis and summer wear. However, the trend is certainly here to stay and very summer-to-winter approved.
I've been wearing this short sleeved dress on summer days with a sneaker and during cocktail hours with a flat sandal, but this versatile piece will definitely warm my winter wardrobe with a cosy knitted veste and some tights.
I love the simple t-shirt model of this dress. Since the neck of the dress is rather high, I like to wear a mid-length necklace to create the illusion of a V-neck and balance out the look (read: tone down the boobiliciousness 😜).
What do you think of the velvet trend? Did you add it to your summer wardrobe or are you waiting for colder days to come?
And if you’re not ready to think about fall yet, then make sure to check out my Instagram page the coming weeks, because my summer vacation in Greece is just about to start, so I will take you right back into summer mode ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ŽðŸ˜‰.
